Bradley Reunion
We went through pretty extensive training to prepare for a natural childbirth. It was 12 weeks of classes, so we got to know the other expecting couples pretty well. We just had our reunion a couple of weeks ago, where the babies all got to meet for the first time. Here they are! (Note: Check out Wally just relaxing with his elbow up on the end next to Lilah...hilarious.)
Little Lilah - 0-3 Months
Here's the backlog of photos from her first 11 weeks of life!
Grandma and Grandpa Rice came to visit - we went wine tasting at Driftwood Vinyards:
Lilah @ 2 months. She is a big girl at 12.5 lbs and 24" long! 97th percentile in height and 87th in weight.

Oh My Gosh - We have a Baby!
I know, I know, the real reason you've come to this blog is to learn more about Lilah, so I'll give into what you want. Lilah was born on 1/5/2012 at 1pm. She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and was 20.5" long (although I don't think they measured accurately - she was 22" at her Dr. appointment 4 days later.)
Delivery went well. We were trying to go the au natural route and have an unmedicated childbirth, but that went out the window when my water broke early.
This is me - after my water broke - but before we went to the hospital.
At that point an induction was necessary, and it was just too difficult to go through the induction contractions without any pain medication. After 8 hours of contracting on Pitocin, I finally gave in to the epidural. The epidural was AMAZING - sweet relief! haha. Lilah was born about 6 hours after that. She came out sucking her toes, which was the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life!
Here's some more pictures from the hospital

How We Got Here
So Boone and I met when I moved to Austin from Wisconsin about 3 years ago. We met at a friend's birthday party the first weekend that I had been in Austin - literally, the FIRST weekend. And we've been together ever since. Here's some pictures from our beautiful backyard wedding April 9, 2011.
Welcome to our Family Blog!
Cirque du Putney or The Putney Family Circus. I decided to make this the title of our blog not due to the current state of our life, but the anticipated environment of the future Putney household. You see, Boone wants about a dozen kids - I'd be happy with 3ish (although Boone's number has been decreasing steadily since the installment of Putney Baby #1.) Well, wherever we end up, I'm sure that it will be quite the circus for the next 18+ years, and Boone and I are so excited to be the ring leaders.
I will attempt to keep this blog updated so y'all can see how our little Texas life unfolds. It's been almost one year since our marriage and life doesn't get much better than this!
As of today, our marriage is 11.5 months old, and Lilah is 11 weeks old.
