Time flies!

I can't believe it's been a couple of months since my last post.  Keeping this updated is a little tougher than I thought!  Life is busy.  Boone and I are staying very busy with work during the day, and then the madness continues as we chase around this very active baby at night.  We fall into bed completely exhausted at the end of each day, but don't forget to take time to be thankful for the awesome life that we've been blessed with.

It's amazing how quickly Lilah grows and develops.  Just over the past couple of weeks she's started rolling over really consistently and her little laugh is heard more and more.  She's also one of the most smiley babies I've ever seen - grinning at everyone and everything!
Her latest stats: 26.5" and almost 14 lbs. (99th percentile in height and 58% in weight)

We're looking forward to a visit to Wisconsin in a couple of weeks, where she will get to meet her Uncles, Aunt, Great-Grandmas, and Great-Aunts and Uncles....and of course, reconnect with Grandma and Grandpa. Then, when we get back, she'll get to meet her Great-Grandma & Great-Grandpa Kirby.   It will be an exciting couple of weeks for her (and for the family!)

Here's the latest pictures...enjoy!

There are so many captions for this picture, that it's impossible to pick one.  Basically, this is the most awesome picture ever.  Boone's gym members think she looks like a natural coach :)

Easter yawn :)

Super baby!

Uncle Chris came to visit

4 Months
Yes, we finally decided to take the plunge and install turf in our yard.  So, goodbye majestic field - hello, beautiful, lush, green, grass.  Now let's see how long we can keep it beautiful, lush, and green!  Lilah is loving playing in her new backyard!

Look at those Cheeks!!!

"Who you callin' chubby?"

Bradley Reunion

We went through pretty extensive training to prepare for a natural childbirth.  It was 12 weeks of classes, so we got to know the other expecting couples pretty well.  We just had our reunion a couple of weeks ago, where the babies all got to meet for the first time.  Here they are!  (Note: Check out Wally just relaxing with his elbow up on the end next to Lilah...hilarious.)

Gorgeous Pictures

We had some photos taken of Lilah when she was just over 2 weeks old.  Here they are!

Little Lilah - 0-3 Months

So here's the little lady!  She's beautiful!  She's a very active baby - always wanting to be moving around - face forward, of course.  At 11 weeks she is smiling and cooing a lot and can actually be put down for about 10 minutes at a time to play by herself. Her longest stretch of sleep is between 5 and 7 hours every night, and we're hoping for 8 sometime soon!

Here's the backlog of photos from her first 11 weeks of life!

Grandma and Grandpa Rice came to visit - we went wine tasting at Driftwood Vinyards:

Lilah @ 2 months.  She is a big girl at 12.5 lbs and 24" long!  97th percentile in height and 87th in weight.

Lilah "wading" at McKinney Falls State Park - she loved sticking her toes in the water!

Oh My Gosh - We have a Baby!

I know, I know, the real reason you've come to this blog is to learn more about Lilah, so I'll give into what you want.  Lilah was born on 1/5/2012 at 1pm.  She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and was 20.5" long (although I don't think they measured accurately - she was 22" at her Dr. appointment 4 days later.)

Delivery went well.  We were trying to go the au natural route and have an unmedicated childbirth, but that went out the window when my water broke early.

This is me - after my water broke - but before we went to the hospital.

At that point an induction was necessary, and it was just too difficult to go through the induction contractions without any pain medication.  After 8 hours of contracting on Pitocin, I finally gave in to the epidural.  The epidural was AMAZING - sweet relief!  haha.  Lilah was born about 6 hours after that.  She came out sucking her toes, which was the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life!

How We Got Here

So Boone and I met when I moved to Austin from Wisconsin about 3 years ago.  We met at a friend's birthday party the first weekend that I had been in Austin - literally, the FIRST weekend.  And we've been together ever since.  Here's some pictures from our beautiful backyard wedding April 9, 2011.
